Asia Youths Association (AYA) successfully conducted the LGBTQIA+ Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Training in Mae Sot, Thailand. The training aimed to enhance understanding of the mental health and psychosocial well-being of queer individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community and to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to provide appropriate psychosocial support when needed.
Throughout the training, participants explored a range of topics, starting with the fundamentals of mental health and covering key issues relevant to the LGBTQIA+ community, including Minority Stress, Stress and Anxiety, Emotional Distress, Psychological First Aid (PFA), Personal Boundaries, Self-Care, and Well-being. Participants shared their knowledge, engaged in discussions, and learned together through interactive activities and experience sharing.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their enthusiastic attendance, active participation, meaningful discussions, and willingness to share their experiences throughout the training.
Through this training, we hope that participants have gained a deeper understanding of mental health and feel more empowered to support not only their own well-being but also the well-being of those around them. We look forward to meeting everyone again in our upcoming training programs.
Asia Youths Association (AYA) remains committed to promoting mental health awareness and creating more opportunities for young people. In addition to mental health awareness training, AYA will continue to organize various training programs to expand access to education, vocational skills development, and employment opportunities for young people.
Together, let’s build a more inclusive, supportive, and mentally healthy community. 🌈💜
